In class were are currently watching a video called mosquito coast. This movie is about an inventor named Allie. Allie and his family currently live in the U.S. But over time Allie becomes fed up with the American Society and decides to move his family to Africa. As you know we are also reading the Poisonwood Bible. So far, the Price family is a missionary family that lives in Africa. The head of the family, Nathan Price, is a preaching Reverand that is determined on influencing the kolognese people. He believes that he needs to save the African people from their cursed lives by turning them into christians. Between the two stories, there are many parallels. The most common parallel that is the theme of both stories is: Both families lived in the U.S. before moving to Africa. Also they both moved for the same concept. To change/help the African people. In Mosquito Coast, Allie (Harisson Ford) moves his family to AFrica, because he believes that his inventions would serve more purpose to the people. Nathan Price moved his family to AFrica because he believed that the African people should be saved. Both men had similar intentions and they both were heading to the same place.
